The nurturing ministries of the congregation shall give attention to but not be limited to education, worship, Christian formation, membership care, small groups, and stewardship. Attention must be given to the needs of individuals and families of all ages. (The Book of Discipline, 2012)
While the focus of the Outreach and Witness Committees is outward, reaching out to the community in which we live and beyond, the Nurture Committee has an inward focus, looking to build the spiritual vitality of the church membership, so that they may, in turn, be empowered to go out into the world to witness of the love of Jesus Christ.
The Nurture Committee draws together the leaders of worship, music, drama, Christian education, youth programs, prayer, parish nursing, camping, and history and records into a think tank that strives to bring a variety of meaningful, spiritual programming to the church family. While honoring our tradition as a United Methodist congregation, it is important to be constantly evolving so that our congregation may stay relevant to the ways our members interact with the world.
